EduJet Scanner is a mobile application used by authorised school staff to record student and staff attendance by scanning QR codes on ID cards. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.
The app requests access to your device camera solely to scan QR codes on student and staff ID cards. The camera feed is processed locally on your device in real time. No images or video are captured, stored, or transmitted anywhere.
When you sign in, your username and password are sent securely to your school's own server to authenticate your identity. We do not store your password on the device. A session token is saved locally on your device to keep you logged in and is automatically cleared when you sign out.
Attendance data (student or staff name, ID, date, and attendance status) is submitted directly to your school's server when you confirm a scan. This data is owned and managed entirely by your school — EduJet Scanner does not collect, store, or have access to it.
The address of your school's server is saved locally on your device so the app knows where to send data. This is not shared with anyone.
All data saved by the app (server address, session token) is stored in your device's secure encrypted storage and never leaves your device except when communicating with your school's own server.
This app is operated by school staff and is not directed at children. Student attendance records processed through the app are handled in accordance with your school's own data protection and safeguarding policies.
Since all attendance data is stored on your school's server, any requests to access, correct, or delete that data should be directed to your school administrator.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be made available through the app or your school's administration. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
